This beautiful instrument is made with carved-out paulownia body soundboard that's air-
dried for over 3 years. The soundboard is a lot thicker than standard guzheng. Thus,
the sound is very rich and clean. No hint of blurriness will be found in this guzheng. The
frame is made by aged rosewood with mother-of-pearl inlay. The backboard is made of
walnut wood. Solid walnut wood provides a more solid and punchy voice. In stead of 3
big sound holes, 24 small round sound holes are opened so the voice is evenly spread
out and filled the room. The sound is purified and resonant. It also best represents
Hong Sheng guzheng's warm and sweet voice.
This instrument is definitely one of a kind and stands in a class of its own.
