This is a custom-made guzheng hand crafted by the Gold Medal Award winner, Mr. Wang
Jianchun of the Tianyi Factory. Mr. Wang Jianchun's instruments are favorites among
professional guzheng players and music conservatories for their fullness of sound and
versatility.
The sound board is selected from the best grade of air-dried paulownia cuts in the
quartersawn method. The quartersawn-cut method is known as the best cutting method
of sound boards for musical instruments. It provides a more stable and clear sound
compared to the flatsawn-cut. The bottom of the sound board is carved with sound
grooves to increase volume.
The straight and tight grains of the sound board yield the best concert-level sounds. This
instrument sounds full and resonant with strong bass and sweet highs. The middle range
is solid and has a clarity that can't be heard in other instruments.
The frame is made of golden-thread Nanmu with mica inlay. Golden-thread Nanmu is a
type of strong wood that's used as the pillars of the forbidden palace. Nanmu is known for
its warm, earthy and soothing tone with deep voice.
This guzheng comes with the whole package that leads you to enjoy playing. We provide
set-up instruction that's easy to follow. Help on set-up and playing is also offered over the
