This is a custom-made guzheng hand crafted by the Gold Medal Award winner, Mr. Wang
Jianchun of the Tianyi Factory. Mr. Wang Jianchun's instruments are a favorite among
professional guzheng players for their fullness of sound and versatility.
The sound board is selected from the best grade of air-dried paulownia cut in the
quartersawn method. The quartersawn-cut method is known as the best cutting method
of sound boards for musical instruments. It provides a more stable and clear sound
compared to the flatsawn-cut. The bottom of the sound board is carved with sound
grooves to increase volume.
The straight and tight grains of the sound board yield the best concert-level sounds. This
instrument sounds full and resonant with strong bass and sweet highs. The middle range
is solid and has a clarity that can't be heard in other instruments.
The frame is premium rosewood with beautiful wood carving. The wood carving displays
the story of the Lady Zhaojun. One of the ancient beauty in China. The characteristics of
Rosewood is sweet and bright.
We do not sell flame-dried instrument that has charcoal like dark soundboard. The flame-
dried board although can speed up the drying process, but the sound quality is not
optimal. It generally sounds metallic with short lifespan.
This guzheng comes with the whole package that leads you to enjoy playing. We provide
set-up instruction that's easy to follow. Help on set-up and playing is always offered over
the phone or the internet free of charge.
