Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra Family Concert - March 8, 2009 Chiu-Tze Lin, Music Director and Conductor
The Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Chiu-Tze Lin, its esteemed music director and conductor, is presenting its annual Family Concert on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at 7:00 pm. The theme of the concert, “Melding of the East and West”, will feature the world- renowned Chinese Guzheng Master, Yang Yi. Ms. Yang will present the U. S. premiere performance of the “Regretted Separation,” for the Chinese Guzheng, Chorus and western Symphony orchestra. This unique composition was composed by He Zhan Hao, who also wrote an all-time classic, “Butterfly Lovers.” The Bravura Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Chiu-Tze Lin, its esteemed music director and conductor, is presenting its annual Family Concert on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at 7:00 pm. Ms. Yang Yi is a foremost Guzheng master in the world, described by the New York Times as “fascinating, surprising and extraordinarily beautiful" and “extraordinarily fantastic, intensive and passionate." by the West German News. A winner of the International Chinese Instruments Competition and numerous awards, Yang Yi is a highly acclaimed guzheng virtuoso, distinguished guzheng educator and lecturer. Yang Yi was a faculty at the prestigious China Conservatory of music, where she graduated. She has performed as a soloist with the most renowned Chinese Musical Groups such as Chinese National Orchestra, China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra, China National Song & Dance Ensemble, China National Opera House, and Beijing Song & Dance Ensemble.
