Sept. 12: Youth Gu Zheng Concert by Bonnie Blackburn

Join us on September 12th at 2PM at the Museum of Making Music for a
special youth performance in partnership with Center ARTES at Cal
State San Marcos.  This concert features high school student Bonnie
Blackburn performing on the gu zheng, an ancient Chinese stringed
instrument which is part of the zither family. This program features
traditional and folk melodies from the various regions around China.  
Compositions include “Dance of the Yao Tribe,” “Harvest Drumming,”
“Liu Yang River,” “Fisherman’s Dusk Song” and other pieces inspired
by the people and places of China.  Bonnie will perform a final gu zheng
duet with her internationally acclaimed teacher, Bei Bei He.

This concert is free though a $5 suggested donation is appreciated.  
Proceeds will benefit the Museum of Making Music’s education
programs as well as Center ARTES arts education initiatives.
